Ethel O. Gleason was born on 13 Jan 1908 in Toledo, Lewis County, Washington, the daughter of Delmar and Matilda Gleason.[1]
On 13 Jan 1926 in Chehalis, Lewis County, Washington, George W. Layton, married Ethel Gleason. He was a 27 year old truck driver, the son of John Layton and Mary Pumphrey. Ethel was 18 years old, the daughter of "Elmer" Gleason and Ollie Patch. Both were born in Lewis County. The ceremony was performed by P.? C. Beaufort, Justice of the Peace, and the witnesses were Mrs. Merl Layton and C. W. Clayton, both of Toledo, Washington.[2]
In 1940, Ethel O. Layton lived in Olympia with her husband George and two children.[3]
After the death of George Layton, Evelyn married Elmer Foote in 1974, and they moved to Lynnwood, Washington. Elmer died in 1977. Ethyl moved to Yakima in 1993, returning to Olympia in 2002.[1]
Ethel died on Monday, 11 Oct 2004. Services were held at Olympic Memorial Gardens in Tumwater on Saturday, October 16, 2004.[1]
