Biography

Thomas married as his first wife, Mary Mellon/Mellen, daughter of Simon & Mary (Unknown) Mellon/Mellen, on 6 Dec 1695 at Framingham, Middlesex, MA[1] Their children were Thomas, Richard, Jonas, Elijah, Moses, Uriah, Mary, Esther, Simon, James, Elizabeth, Aaron, Joseph and a second James.

After the death of Mary, he married Mercy Hovey, daughter of Daniel & Mercy (Unknown) Hovey, on 10 Jun 1729 at Oxford, Worcester, MA[2] (after the death of Thomas, Mercy married John Waite on 19 Dec 1749)

"Thomas Gleason settled in Framingham near his father, his lot being No. 14, at the southeast corner of Main and Sutton streets; house No. 194. Years later a brick house was built on the same site. He removed to Oxford, Mass. about 1723. On Oct. 3, 1723 he deeded his home lot, House No. 194, to his son Thomas, who sold it to Jacob Cummings Nov. 21, 1726. He and his wife, with about thirty others, were signers of the Covenant, and were the founders of the church in Oxford, Jan. 18, 1720-1. He was one of the Selectmen of Oxford from 1723-1726; Constable 1721." uncertain.

Probate

Thomas Gleason of Oxford, husbandman died intestate and on 2 February 1731/32, with his widow, Mercy declining the administration, his son Moses Gleason was granted the administration of his estate.[3]

In 1732, an account of his estate by Moses Gleason was recorded which included the sale of the estate, debts paid, funeral charges, appraisers, clothing for the children, bringing up the 2 youngest children, and administration fees. The real estate was recorded. His sons, Thomas, Richard, Elijah, Jonah, and Uriah had received their share in their lifetime, so his estate was set out to his widow, Marcy, and Moses with him paying Symon, Joseph, Daniel, Mary, Esther, Elizabeth, and Priscilla their proportional share.[4]

Gleason-431 and Gleason-217 appear to represent the same person because: Same death date; Gleason 431 is an orphan
posted by Jill (Neibaur) Olson
The death date falls in the "double date year range", so the death date should be presented, I believe, as 11 January 1731/32. This is not a range, but a specific date.
