Joyce (Gleason) Newell was born on 21 April 1678 in Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts, the daughter of Joseph Gleason (1642 - 1715) and Martha (Russell) Gleason (1647 - 1684)[1].

Her siblings were:

Joyce (~22) married Jacob Newell (~41) (1658 - 1718) in May 1700 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts[2]. Their children were:

  2. Jacob Newell (1704 - 1779)
  3. Joseph Newell (1707 - 1758)
