Susanna is not mentioned in William's Father's Will. The children mentioned in John Glenn's will are William, Mary, Salley, John, Abraham, Isaac, ----(blot of ink), Daniel, James, Elizabeth. Likely some relation, but I have not found it.

You are correct in thinking William and John are very common given names, and they have created much research for genealogists. The documentation listed above supports that William Glenn was the son of John Glenn; especially the research done by Claude Massey. Their relationship has been traced through land deeds and military records where both were recorded as serving in Guilford Co., NC. on 29 Dec 1785 Rockingham Co., NC was created from the northern half of Guilford Co., NC. They both are in the DAR records which has very stringent requirements for membership. I'm sorry I do not know more about Susanna or her father James Glenn, but there is evidently a connection somewhere.
