Jake was born in 1893. He was the son of Lewis Glenn and Bettie Dudley. He passed away in 1958. J. D. Glenn owned a large farm and ranch, east of Crockett, Texas on hiway 7, he sold the place to Dr. Prince of Houston about 1948. He owned several buildings in Crockett, one housed the Home Cafe, and J. D. and his brother Abby lived on the second floor of that building. Another building was a firestone store (rented by Mr. Duggan) and another was rented by Moore's dry cleaner. He was divorced from Minnie Ola Brannen Glenn about 1944, he bought her a house in Crockett on Houston Avenue, the only "mansard roof" style in Crockett, Texas. She married (2) Tom R. Kropp.
