Mr. James Glover has opened a boot and shoe and stationery store in the premises next to A.M. Gilpin, jeweller. June 1885 The annual meeting of the Mechanics’ Institute was held in the Market Hall, the chair filled by president W.H. Hamilton. Officers elected for the coming year are: President James Alker, 1st vice-president James Glover.
