5 Aug 1948: Marriage of single 28 year old engineering student John Pix Weston, son of railway executive John Pix, of Stirkley, 31 Margaret Road, Harborne and single 24 year old teacher Ivy Glover, daughter of grocer's assistant Walter, of 2 East Road, Northallerton, at Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.^[4][5]

TEACHER MARRIED AT NORTHALLERTON - TO BIRMINGHAM POWER ENGINEER: A Teacher at Northallerton Junior School, Miss Ivy Glover, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Glover, 21 East Road, Northallerton, was married on Thursday to Mr. John Pix Weston, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Weston, Margaret Road, Harborne, Birmingham, an electric power engineer. The bride is a member of Northallerton Detachment of the Red Cross and the bridegroom is a member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade.

The service at Northallerton Parish Church was conducted by the Rev. G. H. Peskett and Mr. E Kell was at the organ.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a full-skirted ivory satin gown trimmed with pearls with hand-embroidered silk-edged veil held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of arum lillies.

She was attended by her sister, Miss. Beryl Glover, who wore an old-gold taffeta gown with matching headdress and embroidered gold veil; and misses Mary and Margaret Cooper, who wore white taffeta trimmed with gold lace with matching head-dresses. Mr. C. W. Barton was best man and Mr. K. Glover groomsman.

The honeymoon is being spent at St. Ives, Cornwall.^[6]
