Dr. J.F. Wedgwood Weds Ruth Glushien

The marriage of Ruth N. Glushien, an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, to Dr. Josiah F. Wedgwood, a resident pediatrician at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, took place yesterday at the Unitarian Church of All Souls. The Rev. F. Forrester Church performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris P. Glushien of Great Neck, L.I. Her father, a labor arbitrator, was general counsel to the International Ladies Garment Workers Union from 1947 to 1972. Her mother is a watercolorist.

Dr. Wedgwood is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Josiah Wedgwood of Seattle, a grandson of the late Josiah Wedgwood, chairman of Josiah Wedgwood & Sons from 1947 to 1967, and a descendant of Josiah Wedgwood, the English potter who founded the china and earthenware company in 1759. His father is a professor and former chairman of the department of pediatrics at the University of Washington Medical School.

Mrs. Wedgwood graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and received a J.D. from the Yale Law School, where she was executive editor of The Yale Law Journal. She has worked as law clerk to Judge Henry J. Friendly of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, law clerk to Associate Justice Harry A. Blackmun of the United States Supreme Court and special assistant to Assistant Attorney General Philip B. Heymann.

Her husband, a magna cum laude alumnus of Harvard, received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Harvard and an M.D. from George Washington University.
