Benjamin Goddard was born on August 15, 1704[1][2] in Watertown, Massachusetts and was an early settler in the area that would become the Township of Shrewsbury.[3] Land grants began there in 1717 and the town became incorporated under its present name in 1727.[4] Benjamin Goddard and Grace Fiske of Watertown were married September 25, 1733 in Watertown, Massachusetts.[5][6][7] Benjamin Goddard died in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts January 28, 1754 in his 50th year.[8][9]
