Percival "Percy" Scott Lambton was born on the 2 March 1900 at 66 Foreign Street, Kennington, in the District of Camberwell, South London, in the London Borough of Southwark, District of Lambeth, in Surrey, England[1]. He was the son of Frederick Charles Godfrey and Emma Elizabeth Munden.

Baptism

He is baptized on the 27 April 1900 at the Parish Church of St James the Apostle, Knatchbull Road, in District of Camberwell, South London, in the London Borough of Southwark, District of Lambeth, in County of London, England[2].

Marriage

Percival "Percy" Scott Lambton (Godfrey) marries Louise Elizabeth (Tompsett) between July and September 1925 in the District of Medway, in Kent, England[3].

With the Register of 1939, Percival "Percy" Scott Lambton (Godfrey) has married Louise Elizabeth (Tomsett) and they live with their children Joan Elizabeth, Doris M. and Dennis L. (Godfrey) at 13 Baden Road, in the Village of Gillingham, near the Town of Chatham, in Kent, England[5].

Royal Marine Service

Percival "Percy" enlists in the Royal Marines on the 27 April 1915 at Chatham Barracks (aka H.M.S. Pembroke), adjacent to the southern end of the Dockyard, in the Town of Chatham, Kent, England. He was given the service number 19842 and is attached to the Light Infantry, Chatham Division of the Royal Marines and is one of their Buglers.

Percy is described as being 4 feet 8 1/4 inches with a fresh complexion, grey eyes and light brown hair. During the First World War, he serves aboard such vessels as the H.M.S. Lord Nelson from 2 June 1917 to the 29 September 1917; and H.M.S. Victory V from the 30 November 1917 to the 1 January 1918. He is discharged on the 26 February 1920[6].

Occupation

With the Register of 1939, Percy is now out of the Royal Marines and working as a Carpenter.

Death/Cremation

Percival "Percy" Scott Lambton (Godfrey) passes away on the 5 March 1969 in the Town of Chatham, on the River Medway, Kent, England. He was 69 years old at the time of his death[7]. He is cremated on the 12 March 1969 at the Medway Crematorium, Robin Hood Lane, Blue Bell Hill, in the Town of Chatham, Kent, England. His ashes were strewn in Glade 16[8].
