According to his death record, John Goding was born at Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), the son of Peter Goding, and his age at his death computes to a birth date of on or about 10 Mar 1806.[1] The death record does not give the name of his mother, but Peter Goding's wife was Elizabeth (Lovewell) Goding. The 1900 Census says he was born in March 1806,[2] and the 1928 history of Livermore gives his birth date as 9 Mar 1806.[3]
Marriages
John Goding married Miriam Doble. Miriam (Doble) Goding died in 1842.[3] The 1906 Goding genealogy says they married on 1 Mar 1828.[4] There were no known children from this marriage.
John Goding married Adelphia (Child) Bradford.[3][5] On 26 Mar 1843, John Goding and Mrs. Adelphia Bradford, both of Livermore, Maine, published at Livermore their intention to marry.[6] Their oldest child was six years old in 1850.[7] Adelphia (Child) Goding died in 1854.[3]
John Goding married Louisa Child.[3] They married at Livermore, Maine, on 3 Jul 1855.[8]
Death
John Goding died from old age at Livermore, Maine, on 16 Dec 1901, with his age at his death recorded as 95 years, 9 months, 6 days.[1]
