Andrew Jackson "Black Jack" Golden was born on Aug 4, 1836 in Georgia. He was the son of Layton A. Golden and Lydia Gray. Andrew married first to Mary Ann Hatchcock (Hathcock). He married second to Sally Alumm. Andrew passed away on Jan 3, 1912 and was laid to rest in Pentecost United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thornton Alabama.[1]
Andrew Jackson "Black Jack" Golden was the son of Laten (have also been spelled Layton) Golden and Nancy Parks. He was called Black Jack because he had a 1st cousin by the same name of Andrew Jackson Golden that lived nearby so he was called Black Jack due to his Black hair and his cousin went by "Red Jack" due to his Red hair.
His wife was Sarah E. Golden Hatchery. He served in the Confederate Army in the 34th Alabama Regiment, Company E. He enlisted in 1862 in Loachapoka Alabama (Macon County) and was discharged in 1865.
