Biography

Daniel was born before 1720. He is the son of Joseph Goode and Jane Clarke.

Given name sometimes misunderstood as John Daniel.^[1]

NSDAR Ancestor # AO46312. Descendants of Campbell Goode who were in the DAR using Daniel Goode as Patriot Ancestor: #335893 Dorothy Needham Paterson, #362153 Vardeman Allen Cockrell, #481298 Adah Louis Wilcox Brown.

(Records of Quentin Cabell Smith): His first 3 sons may have been unknown Campbell's children. The remaining sons and some daughters may have been Phoebe's.

(Amherst County, VA Plat Bk, p 235, 18 Jan 1786): "A plot of 80 acres of land in Amherst County on the north side and joining Piney River surveyed for Daniel Goode the 18 day of January 1786 by the true meridian......by Ira Higginbotham, Surveyor."

Garland of the County of Amherst of the other part; Witnesseth that whereas Daniel Goode the Elder departed this life intestate many years past and at the time of his death was seized and possessed of in his own right a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Nelson and the State of Virginia........"
