The final status and resolution of Lydia's marriage to Thomas Henry Lay is uncertain. The Goodhue Genealogy states he died in 1852. However, in 1854, Lydia filed a complaint in courts of the City of New York against Thomas Henry Lay for him to be summonded and to answer the complaint.
The independent City of Brooklyn, Kings, N.Y. became a borough of the consolidated New York City, N.Y. on 1 Jan 1898.
