As a member of the US Black Heritage Project, I have added categories and highlighted the list of the slaves owned by John and Catherine Goodloe Durrett on this profile with categories using the standards of the US Black Heritage Exchange Program. This helps us connect enslaved ancestors to their descendants. See US Black Heritage: Heritage Exchange Portal for more information.

As posting in comments is the preferred mode (as opposed to making broad changes which affect multiple established lines), I have re-connected Catherine Goodloe to John Durrett, and am providing notes in the profile and here.

Research Notes Bio in italics is disputed: (Unsupported) "10 Feb 2023 - NOTE - Catherine Goodloe was NEVER the wife of John Durrett (Durrett-155) I have unlinked her so that she may be attached to another husband & with all her family information." (Baker-53780)

The original bio for Catherine states that she married John Durrett, son of John and Mary Durrett. Neither this statement nor the above claim have been sourced.

Henry Goodloe was not married to Elizabeth Weeks.

Elizabeth Weeks was married 1st to John Vause II, 2nd to Caleb Wheeling/Whelling (listed as Elizabeth Whelling in her father's Will) and 3rd to Thomas Spencer who was from King & Queen Co.

All these marriages are listed in Christ Church Parish Recds of Middlesex Co., VA.

Catherine Goodloe Durrett was born 1 May 1720..NOT 1702. She and John Durrett were md prior to 1748 as she was listed as Catherine Durrett in her father's Will. She died 1793/94...not 1748.

My source is Goodloe Genealogy by Paul Miller Goodloe, p. B-37...published 1982.

May want to look at John Bartholomew Durrett as potential spouse. Names shown here for her children sure look close/similar to those indicated in his records/bio...
