Biography

John Wesley Gordon, Sr. was born in 1823 in Georgia, the son of Alexander Gordon and Lisha Allen.

He married Mary Ann 'Polly' Moseley about 1845.

They appear together on the 1850[1] and 1860[2] census in Tattnall County, Georgia with their children.

By 1870[3], the whole family moved to Florida, possibly Bradford or Clay County.

In 1880[4], most of the family was back in Georgia.

He is mentioned on the death record of his son Clemen T. (incorrectly identified as 'Clementine' on the death certificate) Gordon[5], John Wesley Gordon, Jr.[6], daughter Missouri in 1923[7], and son Crawford F. Gordon in 1937[8].
