FULTON — Eugene L. Gordon, 88, of Rt. 6, Rochester, died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester where he was admitted Dec. 22, He had been in failing health for. six months. Born Oct. 26, 1882 in Fulton County, he was the son of Samuel and Diadema DeWeese Gordon. He was a lifelong resident of Fulton County, and a member of the Fulton Baptist Church. His marriage Feb. 25, 1911 at Rochester was to Alberta Maude Robbins who preceded him in death Dec. 14, 1963.
Survivors include six sons, Ralph, Rochester; Vorhes, Bokoshe, Okla.; Frank, Rt. 6, Rochester; Paul, Rochester; Robert, Walton and Russel of New Waverly; a daughter, Mrs. Chester Williams of Rt. 1, Rochester and a brother, Lyman, of Plymouth. Also surviving are several grandchildren and five, great-grandchildren. A daughter, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ditmire-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. Franklin Arthur officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
