Biography

Moses Gordon III was the grandson of Moses I and resided in Belfast Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania. When Moses Peter GORDON was born on April 5, 1798, in Belfast, Pennsylvania, his father, John, was 34.

He married Mary Mollie PECK Gordon and they had eight children together. He then married Frances F (Fannie) PECK Gordon and they had six children together. His first wife Mary Peck was born November 30, 1797 and died October 12 1856. Fannie Peck his second wife was born in 1836 and died in 1896.

He died on September 16, 1877, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried in the Peck Cemetery in Belfast Township on what is now [1965] the Bernard Barnhart farm. A monument was erected in his memory by his son David Gordon.
