Biography
Robert Gordon was born on 27 May 1777 in York, York County, Maine. His parents were John Gordon (1749 - 1815) and Elizabeth (Urann) Gordon (~1756 - 1818).
Robert married Marion Simpson mother of his 7 children (1779 - 1832) on 12 Dec 1801[1] in Sullivan.
Their son was John Simpson Gordon (1818 - 1875).
Robert married Sarah Allen Sargent daughter of Colonel Paul Dudley Sargent and Lucy Saunders Sargent.(1781 - 1859) on 22 Nov 1832 [2]in Sullivan.
Robert died on 18 Sep 1851 in Sullivan aged 74.
