DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:
My husband Ron Smith is a descendant of Elizabeth Gordon who married Dr. Samual Smith in Antrim Township, Franklin County, PA. She was the daughter of Henry Gordon, granddaughter of George Gordon Jr and Great Granddaughter of George Gordon Sr. In a book "Memorials of the family of Skene of Skene, from family papers" that I found online it says on page 133 that "Janet Skene, baptised 9th May 1665; married George Gordon , son of Alexander Gordon, Provost of Aberdeen. The book was edited by Wm. Forbes Skene, D.D.L., LL.D Her Majesty's Histoiographer for Scotland. dated 1887 Aberdeen.. I have also found a picture of the grave stone of Alexander Gordon and Grisell Walker. Alexander died 2 March, 1692. No info on Girsell. Let me know if this helps.
