Katherine was the daughter of Robert Gordon and Louisa Gordon. She may have been born at Gordonstoun, Morayshire, Scotland, where her father had property and died.[1][2] She may have been born in about 1620 - Henry Mill, in his genealogical account of the Barclay family, gives her age as 43 when she died in 1663.[3]
Katherine married David Barclay of Urie, Kincardineshire, Scotland.[4] Their marriage settlement was dated 24 December 1647.[1][2][5] They had five children:
Katherine died, age 43, in March 1663[6] and was buried at Gordonstown, Morayshire.[3] Her husband survived her.[1][2]
Research Notes
The FindAGrave entry for Katherine's father gives a birth date of 11 January 1621 with no source. The image on the site of her father's memorial names her as a child but does not give a birth date, merely her age at death.[6]
John Malcolm Bulloch's The House of Gordon names three children (Robert, Lucy and Jane), but adds that there were several others who died young.[7]
