While census says he was born in Egerton, it is not in the register for 1855, the date on profile when adopted for improvement. (Egerton should be in West Ashford).

• A BMD index search for George Gore in County Kent, England during time span of 1854-1856 yielded only this one result in Thanet, 1855.^[5]
• death register in 1924 says age 72, which implies an estimated birth date of 1852. As this is in a place he was known to live, with his family, A search of birth index for 1851-1853 is forthcoming.
• A search for George Gore in Birth Index between 1851 and 1853 produced record of a George Gore born in 1851, in the district of West Ashford (the location of Egerton). His mother's maiden name was Cuthbert.^[6]
