James was born in 1852. James was the child of James Gorman and Eleanor Phillips.
James married Agnes CAVERY of West Macquarie in 1884 [1]. They had the following children: HAROLD J, 6318/1891; EDWARD J, 13907/1885 d 1885; EDWARD J, 14664/1886 d 1886; EUNICE P, 32796/1887
At the time of James senior's death in 1885 John & Rosanna, Thomas, James & wife, and Margaret (William’s widow) appear to have been living at Truscott's Flat where the family had 9 portions, 428 acres in all. The 1884 maps show these portions mostly in the name of James Gorman, others have William or John Gorman.

He died in 1927 at Bathurst aged 69yrs of ‘arteriosclerosis, senile myocarditis’ and is buried R/C Bathurst .
