Biography

Judith Alberta (Gorman) Carroll, 69, passed away September 3,2009 at Hospice of Dayton from a lengthybattle with brain cancer.

Judy is the beloved wife ofDon Carroll, ofSpring Valley; a devoted mother ofsixchildren: Lynne,Steve, Dave, Pam (Frosty),Christine, and Chris Carroll; a loving grandmother of twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Judywill be missed byher sister, Doris Gorman ofDayton, a brother in-law,Orlanda (Nadine, belated)Carroll of Fairborn, Sister in-laws: June(Bill) Illuzi ofCleveland,Faye (Lee) Austin of Florence, Kentucky, and Cloene Hedrickof Florence, Kentucky, belated Beatrice(Virgil) Patton of Tennessee and several nieces,nephews,and cousins. Judywill also be missed byher many friends in the Spring Valleyarea whereshe and her husband Don resided for fiftyyears.

Judy devoted her life to caring for her family. Judywill be remembered forher famous countrycooking,especially her cabbage rolls, her homemade vegetable and chili soups,rice krispy treats and her Sunday morning breakfastsofbiscuits,fried sweet potatoes, her special "meal gravy" and homemade mush.

Her heartand her door were alwaysopen for thosewho were hungry; be it for food, akind word, a listening ear or a bit ofwisdom and gossip. She will bemissed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is preceded in death by her son Chris, two infant grandsons Daniel and Michael,parents Ralph and Leota Gorman, three sisters Jeannie,Betty Lou,and Ruth,two Brothers Buddy and Bob and beloved dog Muffy.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday,September 8th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Internmentto follow in Spring ValleyCemetery. Her family will receive friendsMonday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Source: Obituary Greene County Dailies 8 September 2009 (Tuesday)
