Biography
No birth record for Elizabeth has been found. She was the daughter of David Gorsuch and Elizabeth Hanson and was born in Baltimore County on her father's plantation about 1767. She is mentioned in the will of her father signed 5 MAY 1784 as living in a house purchased by her mother from William Fell in Baltimore with her son William Gorsuch. The child appears to have been illegitimate as her father left her 20 shillings and no more. [1]
Elizabeth married the husband of her widowed sister, Elijah Stansbury, on 15 NOV 1783. She was the mother of fourteen children.
