Additional children listed in Peter's Will 9 Jul 1785 - 17 Apr 1787 detailed in notes below
Charles Gosnell
Sarah Gosnell m. ? Brown
Ann Gosnell m. Adam Shipley - it is possible Hannah and Ann are the same person
See William Gosnell Sr for a map showing the location of Land Patents for Peter and his brothers Maurice and William.
William Gosnell Sr had 3 sons listed in his will in order William, Peter, and Maurice. All 3 were under 18 at the time of will 1709. William started buying land in 1720 and Maurice and Peter 1726. Maurice was probably the youngest son and was born 1695 to 1701 but there is no documented birth date.
Some trees have merged brothers Peter and Maurice together and called the person Peter Maurice Gosnell. St. Margaret's Parish Records, Anne Arundel, MD along with deeds and a will for Peter can accurately assign the correct wives and children to each.
St. Margaret's Parish Records, Anne Arundel, MD contain Maurice's marriage record to Susana Wright 29 Nov 1722 page 100 and birth records for 2 children page 27 . His brother Peter has children in those records but Peter also has children listed in his will not found in the parish records. So its possible Maurice and Susana also had other children not in St. Margaret's. But no will or estate records for Maurice so these two are the only ones we have proof for.
Children:
Ruth b. 22 Oct 1723 Anne Arundel, MD
Peter b. 14 Dec 1725 Anne Arundel, MD
Susana and Ruth are both listed in the will of Susana’s father Henry Wright so both were alive then. Henry Wright’s will 17 Sep 1742 Anne Arundel Co MD Will Book 23 Pg 183-4
Morris Gorsnell bought a Land Patent of 50a ID Gorsnell’s Range. Surveyed 26 Jan 1726. Final certificate Oct 1729 Book IL#B folio 039 . See William Gosnell Sr for a map showing the location of Land Patents for Maurice and his brothers Peter and William.
13 Dec 1729 Morris Gosnell of Baltimore Co and wife Susanna sold Gosnell’s Range to a neighbor Edward Stocksdale Book IS#K folio 220
There is no record in Baltimore (which has excellent land records) of a Maurice Gosnell buying or selling land through the rest of the 1700s. Both his brothers Peter and William had many land records. So the question is did Maurice die, move elsewhere or chose to be land less.
A Maurice Gosnell is listed as “Signer of a petition to move the county seat to Baltimore City 1768”. Given the lack of any other record indicating his continuing residence, its unclear if it is this is Maurice of this profile or a one from a younger generation with the same name.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
When ever I see two sons with the same name and approximately the same age yet clearly one did not die and and another named after the first one - then they are the same person. Certainly William Gosnell Sr does not list two Maurice's in his will so either they get merged or one should be disconnected from William because he did not have 2 Maurice sons.
