Biography

Marie Thérèse Gosselin was born and baptized on 28 April 1771 in Saint-Charles, Bellechasse, Province of Québec. Her parents were Guillaume Gosselin and Marie Thérèse Nadeau.[1]

Thérèse Gosselin married Louis Guillaume Couture dit Bellerive, son of Joseph Couture and Marguerite Turgeon, on 4 April 1796 in Saint-Charles, Bellechasse, Bas-Canada.[2] The couple was granted a double dispensation for consanguinity. They were 2nd cousins, through common great grandparents Zacharie Turgeon (1664-1743) & Elisabeth Roy (1671- ?) (m. 1691). They were also 3rd cousins, through common 2nd great grandparents Guillaume Couture (1618-1701) & Anne Émard (1627-1700) (m. 1649)

She died on 27 Dec and was buried on 29 Dec 1829 at St-Charles, Bellechasse, QC. She was reported aged 59 years, and the widow of Guillaume [sic; Louis] Couture. [3]
