The assertion that Ann Gott was the wife of James Bosley can be traced back to Miller (1978).[3][5] However, records show that an Ann Gott married Joshua Bosley on
on 04 or 12 November 1779 at St. James par. in Anne Arundel co., MD.[6]
Ann Gott (1756 North Carolina - 1833 Sevier, Tenn),[7][citation needed] wife of Joshua Bosley.[8]
While Miller (1978), offers some evidence for this marital alliance,[9] records show that it was Joshua Bosley who married Ann Gott on 04 or 12 November 1779 at St. James par. in Anne Arundel co., MD.[8]

↑ Some family trees assert that Sophia Bosley), wife of Thomas Ogle, was their daughter, but there is evidence to substantiate this is lacking. In addition, Sophia apparently did not name any of her children: James or Ann.
