Biography

Joseph Gould III was born on 27 Jul 1745 in Hull, Plymouth, Massachusetts, son of Joseph Gould II (1715 - 1769) and Hannah (Binney) Gould (~1720 - ).[1]

His brother was Stephen Gould (1760 - 1818).

Joseph married Polly Coombs (1746 - ) in 1768 in Maine. Their children were:

  4. Jacob Gould Sr (1768 - 1862)

Joseph died on 19 Feb 1818 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine, USA aged 72.

"Per my handed down family tree: served as "mess boy" with his father in the French & Indian War. They were also together at the Siege of Quebec and the Battle on the Plains of Abraham (at that time he was 13 )."
