Most online family trees say that Mehitable Gould was born about 1684 in Framingham, Massachusetts, the daughter of John Gould and Abigail Belcher Gould.[1]

She married Jonas Eaton of Framingham on March 10, 1705.[1]

According to Cutter:

Jonas (2), fourth son of John and Dorcas ([Pearson]) Eaton, was born May 18, 1680, in Reading, and settled in Framingham, Massachusetts, where he died August 13, 1727. He was a carpenter and bricklayer, and purchased, March 10, 1706, the east half of what was known as the "Half Mile Square" in Framingham. He married, before 1706, Mehitable Gould, of Stoneham, daughter of John and Abigail (Belcher) Gould, of that town. Children: Mehitable, born February 17, 1706-07; Noah, mentioned below ; John, September 3, 1710, settled in Killingly, Connecticut; Phebe and Jonas (twins), October 22, 1714; Joseph, March 12, 1716; Mary, March 12, 1718; Joshua, July 1, 1721, settled in Voluntown, Connecticut ; Benjamin, October 9, 1723 ; Ebenezer, September 2, 1727, cordwainer.[2]

From Stearns: "Jonas (3) [Eaton] married Mehitable Gould, and removed to Framingham;"[3]

Her daughter Mehitable was born on February 12, 1707.[4]

BRIGHAM - Disqualified: Would be remiss if not pointing out a search source that says " Nathan Brigham, married first Elizabeth Howe, and married second Mrs. Mehitable (Gould) Eaton." The Eaton name is seen in another source to mean JAMES EATON not Jonas Eaton.

The quote re: Dorcas (Green) Eaton included in Research Notes by Cutter should at least be modified to indicate that Dorcas Pearson is the correct mother for this Jonas Eaton.
