Biography

Harrison Gould was born in Leeds, Maine on 13 Jan 1816, the 11th child of Robert and Anna Parcher Gould. His father was aged 47 and his mother was at the time of his birth. Harrison became a farmer and married twice. His first wife whom he married in Leeds on 26 Mar 1838 was Nancy Lane (5 Jan 1817-4 Mar 1847), the daughter of Giddons Lane, Sr and Jemima Norris Lane. Harrison's second wife was Sarah "Sally" Stinchfield (3 June 1815-10 Jan 1901) whom he married in Leeds on 10 Oct 1847. Sally was the daughter of Ebenezer Stinchfield, Sr. and Mary "Polly" Woodbury.

The 1880 census noted that Harrison had phthisis, another term for tuberculosis. His date and place of death was evidently not recorded, but his estate was probated in 1882. There is no known record for where Harrison was buried. Leeds lost nearly all early burial records in fires.
