Biography

Australia's national Floral Emblem: the Wattle © Commonwealth of Australia Albert was born in 1847 to John M and Ann.[1]

Albert married Jeannette J Maitland in 1872.[2]

Badge – Australian Commonwealth, 1901, Museum Victoria, HT23243Albert Gould was elected to represent New South Wales as a Freetrader in the Senate at the first federal election in 1901.

In 1907 following Sir Richard Baker’s retirement, he was elected President of the Senate, a position which he held until 1910.

Gould was knighted in 1908.

He passed away in 1936. [3]

Hi Maryann

Given that the Liberal Party of Australia didn't form until 1944, after Sir Albert died, perhaps we should remove that category from his profile or replace it with a more relevant one?
