Biography

Joseph Gould was born in about 1833 in East Haverhill, Grafton, New Hampshire. Joseph is the son of William Gould and Sophia Boutelier.

In 1850, Joseph Gould lived with his parents and several siblings in Haverhill, New Hampshire. He was 18 years old, born in Cape Breton, Canada. [1]

In 1860, Joseph Gould, age 27, a shoemaker, resided at a boarding house in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. Other residents included John Spence, age 23, a shoemaker from Ohio, and Charles Hellard, a shoemaker. age 20, a shoemaker from Bavaria. [2]

Joseph Gould, b. 1833 in New Hampshire, registered to vote in San Francisco, California, in 1882 when he was 49 years of age. [3]
