Biography

When James K P Gowdy was born on November 20, 1848, in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, his father, William, was 38 and his mother, Julia, was 29. He married Rachel Ann Jernigan on April 17, 1871, in Mississippi. They had nine children in 14 years. He died on March 1, 1945, in his hometown at the age of 96.
