Margaret was born April 7, 1907 in Peel County, Ontario. She was the only daughter of Thomas and Catherine and had five younger brothers.
Eli married Margaret Gowland March 23, 1917. On their wedding certificate, Eli is listed as a farmer and Margaret is listed as a farmer's daughter. He was 34 when he married 19-year-old Margaret at the United Church in Chinguacousy.
Over the next twenty years, Eli and Margaret had nine children, three boys and six girls. Eli and Margaret had at least 16 grandchildren, but not all of the marriages and children were recorded in the Family Bible and there may be more.
Margaret was buried in Nashville, Ontario, in the same cemetery as her brother John, who died four years before her.
