Biography

Maggie was born in 1894 in Woolwich, London. She is the daughter of Walter Graddon and Mary Slingo.

Maggie married Harold Redman in 1920, and they became the parents of 3 or 4 children (see Research Note). It is worth noting that their wedding was a double wedding in which Maggie's sister, Constance married Harold's brother, Ernest. Please refer to the image section to see the record.

We are unable to locate a verifiable death record, although we note that neither Maggie nor Harold seem to appear on the 1939 England Register. In fact, their 13 year old son Derek is residing with other family members at that time. Harold died in Zimbabwe in 1947, but no death record for Maggie appears there either.

Research Note

A possible son, Derek Harry G Redman, was born in Woolwich in 1926. Because the birth record shows mother's maiden name of Graddon, and because of the fact that 2 Graddon sisters married 2 Redman brothers, we are having difficulty determining who Derek's actual parents are. If you can clarify, we would appreciate hearing.
