"Funeral services were held Thursday in Woods Memorial Chapel for J. R. Gragg, 38, of Monte Vista, who farmed near Sargent. Mr. Gragg died Sunday, Aug. 31, in the Veterans Hospital in Denver. He had been a patient there nearly a week. Mr. Gragg was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Urich, Mo., the son of Fred H. and Robena Gillilan Gragg. He had lived in Colorado 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II and married Miss Shirley Olsen, May 15, 1943, in Reno, Nev. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bill Gragg, and two daughters, Garry Lou Gragg and Ginger Gragg, all of Monte Vista. Burial was in Monte Vista Cemetery with military services. (James Robert Gragg was born on November 8, 1919 in Urich, Henry Co., Missouri. He died on August 31, 1958 in Denver, Denver Co., Colorado. He was buried on September 5, 1968 in Monte Vista Cemetery, Monte Vista, Colorado)"[27]
