Biography

William Graham was born on April 29, 1884 in Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His parents were Roderick Graham and Elizabeth Fraser.

When William was 16 years old he was recorded with his mother and 4 siblings in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His father had died since the 1891 census and his mother was working as a Tailoress. He was employed as a clerk. [1]

He married Amanda Harpell on September 11, 1911 in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada. [2] Together they had 4 children:

  1. William Donald Graham (1912-1912)
  2. Marion Fraser Graham (abt.1914-1982)
  3. Donald Harpell Graham (1915-1982)
  4. William Graham (1917-1975)

Their first child died in the summer of 1912 when he was three days old while they were in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. [3] By the time their second child was born they were living on east coast again, in Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States.

On 12 Sep 1912 William registered to serve with the United States military during WWI. He was employed as a salesman at Benoit Mutty Company in Bangor Penobscot, Maine where he lived with his wife and children. [4]

In 1920 he was 35 years old and living with his wife and three children in Penobscot, Maine, United States. He was working as a salesman at a dry goods store. [5] And the following year he became a naturalized citizen of the United States. [6]

In 1930 [7] and 1940 [8] he was still living in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine with his wife and children.

The following year he died on May 06, 1941 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, United States at the age of 57 years. He was laid to rest at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Bangor. [9]
