Clearfield Resident Marks 80th Birthday At Family Gathering

A Clearfield resident, A. R. Graham, observed his 80th birthday Sunday, March 19, and was honored the previous day at a surprise party in the home of his son, Leroy, at 209 Maple Ave.

Mr. Graham and his wife, the former Ona O'Conner, reside at 314 Poplar Ave.

The couple had six children, five of whom attended the party with their families.

Mr. Graham was born at LeContes Mills March 19, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graham.

A son, Norman, who lives at Laurel, miss., was unable to attend the birthday festivities. Those attending included Mr. and Mrs. Francis Graham and family, Mrs. George Hamm and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Palovesik and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Graham and family, all of Clearfield.

Clearfield Man Honored at Party

Twenty-four relatives and friends attended a party held recently in honor of the 87th birthday of Albert R. Graham of Clearfield. A tureen dinner was served.

Mr. Graham received many gifts and also received telephone calls from his son Norman of Laurel, Miss. and his son Leroy of hayes, Middlesex, England. Leroy Graham, his wife and two sons are presently visiting the elder Mr. Graham.

Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Graham

Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Graham of 314 Poplar Ave., Clearfield, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with an open house from 3 to 10 p.m. at their home.

Mr. Graham and his wife, the former Ona O'Connor, were married at Clearfield Jan. 4, 1912 by the Rev. Dr. Edward C. Reeve. They have made their home at the Poplar avenue address for some 30 years. Mr.Graham has been employed by the Soult Lumber Co. for the past 15 years and before that worked at the Kurtz Bros. Co. plant and the New York Central Railroad.

They are the parents of six children: Francis, Mrs. George (Georgie) Hamm, Mrs. Edward (Louise) Smith, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Palovcski, all of Clearfield; Norman, Laurel, Miss., and Leroy, stationed with the U. S. Army at Denver. They are the grandparents of 25 grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Graham are members of the West Side Methodist Church. Mr. Graham is also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and the Third Ward Fire Company, while Mrs. Graham belongs to the Trainmen's Auxiliary and the Clearfield W.C.T.U.
