Greetings!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Welcome to our community, Tom. The more ancestors you add, the more likely cousins will find you and help leaf out your family branches. :)

Our Honor Code, G2G forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

Please consider stopping by the Tree House to introduce yourself.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Thank you for helping in our mission to build a global tree with only ONE profile per person.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

Tom, since you've uploaded a GEDCOM, our GEDCOM FAQ pages may come in handy.

Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots.

Because WikiTree strives to have only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and collaborate. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). That means even though you've created an open profile, someone else may add or correct information contained within that same profile. If you're lucky, they may even add an original source or a photo. :) Each new profile is a valued leaf on our global family tree.

Hi, Tom. Thanks for checking out our site.

A few employees and a whole lot of volunteers are working together to create a FREE global family tree with only one profile per person. If you'd like to help us by adding your family branches or help to grow the tree in some other way, please select the volunteer button and leave a statement informing us of your interest in our project.

You're welcome to ask a question at G2G forum.

Our Honor Code helps to keep us friendly. Hope you'll join us. :)
