She emigrated to Canada with her family of origin from Pollockshaws, Scotland (near Glasgow) where they spent six years avoiding the Potato Famine in Ireland.[2] Her father Robert, died of ships fever shortly after arriving in Burwick, now Woodbridge, where he had two sisters living.[2]
She married James Walter Misner, a farmer from Simcoe, in 1858 in Norfolk, Ontario.[2][4][5]
Their children were: Elizabeth, Isabella Jane, Adam Franklin, David, Caroline "Carrie" Rebecca, Margaret "Maggie", James Walter, Jr., Alfred W. Christina May, and Graham,
In the 1861 through 1891 Census she and family living Woodhouse Township, Norfolk County, Ontario. They moved Windham in 1901. By 1911 they were back at Woodhouse. [see husband's profile]
Margaret died in 1918 and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery inSimcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario.[1]

The funeral of an aged resident of this neighborhood took place on Sunday at Oakwood Cemetery, when the remains of Margaret Graham, widow of Mr. James W. Misner, were laid away for their long rest. Mrs. Misner died at the home of her son in windham on Friday last, having reached to within a month of her 84th yer. Her husband presceceased her ive yers. She is survived by three sons, Frank and Graham of Windham, and James of Woodhouse, and four daughters, Mrs James Dufton of Woodhouse, Mrs. Archie Everett of Simcoe and Misses Carrie and Lena of Windham. Lady Hearat, wife of Ontario's premier, is a niece.
