The Civil War Enlistments were for a short duration. In his 10-page handwritten "Log Book," his subtitle identifies him as being with "the 8th Regiment, Washington Greys, New York State Troops." He signs the 10th page, "George M. Granger, Co B. Eighth Regiment, N.Y.S. Troops." He says on May 24, 1861, "Gen McDowell, U.S. Army, read the oath, while the whole Regiment with right hands raised repeated it word for word...We were sworn in for 3 months from the 25th day of April."

Granger-1934 and Granger-1046 appear to represent the same person because: Our George Mowbray Granger can also be merged, and then Annie his wife will also need to be merged. I believe their daughter Carrie Louise Granger is your Caroline L Granger too.
