There is a chance that Hugh is related to the ancestors of General U.S. Grant, but I have removed him from that tree until I can find more information linking them. So far, the only source that links them is the Centennial Biographical History of the City of Columbus and Franklin County. The exact death death date of Noah H. Grant (named as his father) is unknown and the history source says Noah spent a winter in Pittsburgh (only tie to the Grove City Grant line).
