When Ellen was about 18 she married on 23 September 1619 in West Allington, Lincolnshire, England. Ellen was listed as the daughter of Thomas Grant of Allington in Lincolnshire and Agnes Robinson his wife in the Lincolnshire Pedigrees. Lincolnshire Pedigrees, Vol. II, p.420 (Publications of the Harleian Society, Vol. 51, 1903). That Hellen was said to have been unmarried on 9/8/1617 and to have later married an Edward Ballard. That her husband was the Edward Ballard of Southwell is made almost certain by the fact that Edward Ballard's mother's family owned land in Allington.[1]
When Ellen was about 53 she married on 28 August 1654 in of her husband's estates during her lifetime. Bequest[2]
Will: 9 May 1656 in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England.
Ellen was buried on 8 September 1657 in St Botolph Aldgate, London, Middlesex, England. Ellin Ballard widow from Mr Ballards in the Minories.[3][4]
Probate was granted on 12 October 1657.[5]
