Ten Generations of Grant written by Myron Scott, copyright 1971, page 110 attempts to explain the “Jr” and “Sr” titles. The title only refers to the seniority in the age and generation of the persons mentioned. When Captain George (4) was alive George (5) was considered “Jr”. Once Captain George (4) passed, George (5) assumed the “Sr” title and George (6) (grandson of David) (5) assumed the “Jr” title. No official birth titles were given.
