William was born in 1810. William Grant ... He passed away in 1877. [1]
(res. Ithaca, N.Y.; wool merchant and manufacturer, being one of the largest buyers of that time; ran stage line bet. Ithaca and N.Y.C.; tanner; manufacturer of lumber and salt; pres. of oil and gold mining companies; vice-pres. of two silver mining companies; commissary-general of N.Y.; held offices in the Dutch Ref. ch.; traveled extensively in his later yrs.; a man of strict integrity. )[2]
