Biography

Ephraim Grant, born about 24 Aug 1698 at Windsor, Connecticut, was the fifth child of Grace Miner, the second wife of Samuel Grant.

He married three times:

1) Elizabeth Cady, b. Groton, March 5, 1701; m. Aug. 22, 1723, Ephraim Grant; she d. Nov. 8, 1726. Their children were :
  1. Grace Grant, b. Tolland, Conn., Jan. 12, 1724
  2. Ephraim Grant, b. Tolland, April 27, 1726; m. Dec. 13, 1748, Mary West.
2) 24 Sep 1747 Mrs. Esther (Parker) Ladd of Coventry, who d. 7 Nov 1760 @ Tolland, CT. They had 5 children.
3) 2 Jul 1761 @ Tolland, CT, Katharine Meacham, daughter of ___ Meacham & Esther Williams; d. aft 1782; they had 2 children, both of whom died young.

Ephraim Grant died 23 Dec 1785 at Tolland.

  • From my family information, Ephraim and Esther had a son, my 5th great grandfather, Elisha Grant born March 14,1752 in Conneticut, died Dec. 23,1824 in Canada. Elisha and Mary Grant had a daughter, Ruth Grant. Ruth married Ebenezer LeGro in 1797. Thus, the LeGro line goes to my grandmother, Addie Elizabeth LeGro who married Joel Hanson, my grandfather.
