Biography

Matthew Grant, born 27 Jun 1723 at Windsor, Connecticut, was the third child of of Mary Chapman & John Grant.

He married 2 Feb 1749 Hannah Birge [b. 1727 @ Windsor, Connecticut, daughter of Cornelius Birge & Sarah Loomis]. They had 7 children.

He was Captain of an East Windsor militia company that marched on the Lexington alarm, i.e. they were Minutemen.

Matthew Grant was a surveyor, tax collector, and grand juror; member of the church at East Windsor.

Matthew Grant died 28 Jun 1800 at Torrington, Connecticut.
