Biography

Lawrence was born in March 1895 in Macon County, North Carolina. He is the son of Andrew Grant and Susan Love.

In 1900 he was living in Macon County, North Carolina in the household of his mother and step-father Melvina and Joseph McClure. His surname is given as "McClure" instead of "Grant," but he is listed as Stepson.[1]
