Biography
George (Gordon) Gordon First Duke of Gordon is a member of Clan Gordon.
George Gordon was a member of the aristocracy in England.
George Gordon, 1st Duke of Gordon (1649- 7 December 1716) was the son of Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly and Mary Grant. He married Lady Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Henry Howard, 6th Duke of Norfolk and Lady Anne Somerset, in October 1676. He and Lady Elizabeth Howard were separated in 1707. He succeeded his father as 4th Marquess of Huntly in December 1653. He was created 1st Duke of Gordon [Scotland] 1 November 1684.
